Autumn Photography Competition Winners celebrated

11th January 24

dead rose

A fabulous selection of creative photography were entered for the Autumn Photography Competition.  Entrants were asked to take a photograph inspired by this poem by Emily Brontë:

Fall, leaves, fall; die, flowers, away;
Lengthen night and shorten day;
Every leaf speaks bliss to me
Fluttering from the autumn tree.
I shall smile when wreaths of snow
Blossom where the rose should grow;
I shall sing when night’s decay
Ushers in a drearier day.

The winners were those who successfully captured the mood of the poem in their photo.

1st place – Isla McCann; Form VI

2nd place – Olive Biggin-Lamming; Form V

3rd place – Ella Johnston; Form V

Well done to all members of the school community who entered, we really enjoyed your beautiful creativity and there is now a display for all to see by the Grandfather clock.
