The Form IV classroom, located in the original school house, offers a warm and engaging welcome to each morning. The day begins at 8.20am and ends at 3.45pm, with wrap around care offered from 7.30am until 6pm.
All lessons are carefully tailored to the needs of each girl and we begin to prepare them for life in the upper school. There is an increased expectation in organisation and the girls are encouraged to further their independence by moving into different classrooms around the school. This enables them to best take advantage of different learning spaces such as having lessons in the dedicated Science lab.
Form IV offers a wider range of learning opportunities than in previous years. There is an increase in specialist teaching and Latin is introduced into the curriculum. From Form IV onwards, girls are issued with French Magazines twice a term. The specialist teachers’ work together to ensure continuity across the curriculum so the children gain both depth and breadth in their learning. There is a variety of clubs open to the girls during break and lunch times, as well as after school.
