Form II Science Day 21st November 2023

23rd November 23

Form II had the most amazing time with Emma from Fab Science!

The workshop began by mixing different liquids and trying to predict their colour change. Red for acid and blue for alkali. We used pipettes and carefully transferred the liquids into test tubes.

In our next activity we explored the density of liquids and made rainbows in a beaker. We had to measure and carefully pour the liquids to make the rainbow. Can you guess which liquid had the greatest and least density?

Bubbles with a difference was next. These bubbles were made with dry ice and fairy liquid. When you popped them, gas came out!

The girls used cauldrons for their next activity. They used dry ice again but in warm water to create a gas which you could pick up in your hands and pour.

The workshop finished with an exploding lemonade bottle! Thankfully we did this outside.

We had such a great time learning all this science!
