In English, we enjoyed sharing the story ‘Rapunzel, Rapunzel, Wash your Hair’; a great reminder to keep our hair neat and clean! We tried so hard to write our own simple versions of the story.

In Phonics, we recalled the digraph ‘ar’ and enjoyed a quick game of Bingo, before working on blending and segmenting with the ‘ar’ digraph.

In ERIC Time, we are so happy to discover we can now read lots of the real books from our book box. We are particularly enjoying lots of spooky Halloween stories this week! See if you can get to the library over the half-term holiday to choose some new picture books to read yourself at home.

We enjoyed an amazing day out to Paradise Wildlife Park, bringing our Science sessions to life. Our focus was ‘Animal Grouping’, so we explored the whole zoo, discussing which type of animals we were looking at and how do we know. We learnt so many facts in our ‘Feathers, Fur and Scales’ workshop with Becky the Zookeeper. We loved watching lots of different birds flying around us in Paradise Birds Show. We also got to know lots of extinct reptiles as we walked around the World of Dinosaurs.

Phew! What a busy day. We were exhausted by the end of the day and all enjoyed a quick nap in the zoo and a long sleep in the school car on the way home!

In Art, we carefully painted super pictures to enhance the Harvest Festival. We recalled how to make the secondary colours really well.

We thoroughly enjoyed our Forest School session on Wednesday. We spotted lots of natural things in the woods, including leaves, trees, sticks, stones and nuts. We then had to go hunting for man-made objects including pegs, plastic bears and fabric bags. We ended the session using the natural objects to make our own initials. Such fun!
