Form One Weekly News 3rd July 2023

7th July 23

We started off Activity Week with a super Problem Solving workshop. We had to work as a team to cross a pretend river, using wooden stepping stones. We had to be careful that we didn’t leave a stepping stone unattended, otherwise it would float away! We worked so well as a team, communicating clearly, listening and helping each other. We even had one person lifting friends at one point! We then had to try to manipulate shapes to make different patterns using large wooden shapes. Easier said than done!

We enjoyed a fun swim with Mrs Halliday, jumping in and playing beautifully with our friends.

In the afternoon, we were so lucky to meet Lawrence, who is a Rowing Paralympian. We loved hearing about his life, training, diet and amazing athletic achievements. He then showed us some of the exercises he does during the day and we had a go at them. Exhausting but fun!

We were so surprised to discover that Form II had made a 3D sculpture of Henri Rousseau’s Surprised picture! We were invited to add tissue paper leaves to their jungle. We loved it!

Tuesday morning was Park Morning! We really enjoyed some free play and organised games with Reception and Form II. We ended the session with a play in the park. Lots of fun had by all!

We enjoyed some relaxing sketching in the afternoon, drawing sunflowers with our friends. The next day, we loved colour mixing and painting the sunflowers together.

Wednesday was an exciting day with fun House Games. We started off with a Scavenger Hunt around the field.

We then enjoyed a whole school disco on the field with party games, followed by a carousel of activities and Form VI joining staff for a rounders match. What a brilliant afternoon!

So we have now come to the end of a fantastic year in Form I! Mrs Weir, Mrs Bishop and Mrs Farrar have had a wonderful time teaching a fabulous class and we wish you all an excellent summer break and lots more fun to come in Form II!
