Reception News 23rd June

23rd June 23

The weeks are just whizzing by at the moment. We have had a busy week full of exciting things. On Wednesday we went to watch the senior Summer Concert which was full of songs, dancing and lots of instruments which was great to see. We even managed to dance along a little bit ourselves. We were very proud of all of our big girl friends.

We have also been busy preparing the classroom for Open Day and getting ready for Sports Day. We are doing a track race, 100m, egg and spoon, sack race and a shuttle relay with Form I. We are very excited to be representing our Houses and can’t wait to have a morning of fun.

We have been continuing to observe the various plants that we are growing and experimenting with. Our Spring Onions are growing very well but the carrot tops have gone rather smelly! We decided to look a little more closely at some flowers and one afternoon we decided to do some observational drawings. We chose some flower pots from the front of the school and brought them into the classroom. First we used our eyes to look really closely at each plant. We then described everything that we could see and discovered that when you look at something closely you begin to really see lots of details, shapes, markings and different shades of colour.
