Trampoline Superstar!

Our resident trampoline superstar took part in the East Regional Schools trampolining competition last Sunday. She bounced very well and came 3rd. The top three competitors qualify to the next round, the ‘zonals’. She will be representing St Hilda’s within the Central Zone (3 zones in GB) on 20th January 2019. What a fabulous achievement.

Movie Night

Forms III to VI had a fun evening watching ‘Honey I shrunk the kids’ whilst enjoying popcorn and other goodies with their friends, all expertly organised by the School Council.  Thank you girls.

Magistrates Day

The girls in Form VI spent a very interesting morning recently, learning about the British judicial system, when two local magistrates from the Legal Eagles team led a workshop.  The girls particularly enjoyed acting out a mock court case and coming to a verdict based on the evidence heard.

Visiting Artist – Darcey Turner

Form V and VI spent the whole day with London based artist and inventor; Darcy Turner. We saw some of Darcy’s amazing inventions and then had the chance to use them to create our sculptures. Continuing with our work on figures in action, we used newspaper to create strong rolled sticks, we then joined them …

We had a great day out at Kew amongst the beautiful gardens and fantastic glasshouses. We took part in workshops concentrating on Rainforests and on Art in Nature. We learnt lots about the different plants and their environments. To support our learning in the classroom, we visited the Marianne North Gallery to view her amazing …
