Form II Website News Summer 1 2026

Form II have had a very busy half term, dominated by putting on our Junior Show – Croak!  Rehearsals started after Easter and the girls worked so hard to learn their lines, remember where they had to be on the stage and learn song words and actions.  Each and every girl took on a speaking part and we were so impressed by how they all learned their lines off by heart.  Amazing!  The girls looked simply fabulous in their costumes and face paints and thoroughly enjoyed showcasing their talents to the rest of the school and then to two different audiences made up of parents, grandparents and friends.  Well done FII, on taking on the main parts of the show – all of the teachers involved are so proud of what you achieved!

This half term also saw FII take part in their first Class Concert.  Every girl performed, either a musical piece on their chosen instrument or performed a poem of their choice.  There was some marvellous whole class singing as a finale too!  We certainly have some very talented performers and it wonderful to be able to share these talents with parents and friends.

In the classroom, FII have enjoyed learning about the poetry and story writing of a very famous author, AA Milne.  We learnt about the many other characters and stories he wrote, aside from Winnie The Pooh.  We had a go at making up our own versions of his poems and enjoyed learning about the Winnie the Pooh characters in more detail.

In Maths we have focused on ‘Fractions’ and ‘Time’ this half term.  We have worked hard on both of these topics and are very capable of dividing cakes and pizzas into various fractions!  Although telling the time has proven more challenging, we are well on the way to learning how to tell the time to the quarter to and quarter past and are beginning to become more familiar with the vocabulary used when referring to the time.

In Art, we have been busy creating something very special that will be displayed on Sports Day.  No spoilers here, but it involved clay, paint and varnish, so as you can imagine, lots of fun had by all!  We can’t wait to display our efforts.

In Science, we have been investigating the local area in terms of plants and minibeasts.  We have been on several hunts around the school grounds to see what we could find and were most impressed with our findings under the logs in the corner of the field…woodlice, worms, slugs, snails to name a few!  We also went pond dipping!  We were fascinated by all of the creatures we found, including pond skaters, water lice and snails.

What a busy time!  We are looking forward to the final half term of this academic year and all of the fun and celebrations as we head to the summer holidays!
