Just before the Easter break, and as part of their `Future Careers Day`, Form I loved meeting Paramedic Jen, who shared what it’s really like to work on the frontline of emergency care.
Jen - who is in her last year training to be a paramedic - gave a fascinating insight into what her job entails, from answering emergency calls and prioritising patients to carrying out vital checks like heart rate and blood pressure. The girls were full of questions and curiosity as they learned how paramedics help people in urgent situations and make quick, life-saving decisions.
A huge thank you to Jen for such an inspiring insight. We think there may be a few Form I paramedics in the making after your visit!

On a sunny Spring day at the end of term, Form VI experienced a powerful glimpse into life as WWII evacuees with a day full of hands-on activities that brought history vividly to life.
From the sound of an air raid siren to exploring real wartime artefacts, the girls began the day by looking at what it meant to live through those uncertain times.
They then took on varied roles — from wardens to injured civilians — to practice stretcher drills and bandaging, showing both teamwork and care.
Outside, the challenge continued as they tackled ARP duties, working together to put out incendiary bombs, carry sandbags and keep their surroundings safe.
It was a truly immersive day of learning and discovery, giving the girls a deeper understanding of resilience, responsibility and life on the Home Front.

From a spark on Pudding Lane in 1666 to the St Hilda`s stage in 2026, Form II shared a powerful retelling of the Great Fire of London during their class assembly.
During the Spring term, each class takes to the stage to share their learning with the school and their families. On Friday, it was the turn of Form II, who showcased not only their growing historical understanding but also their creativity, increasing confidence and teamwork. Complete with catchy songs, brilliant costumes and excellent artwork created using recycled materials, every girl participated, speaking their lines with clarity and singing their hearts out!
Well done Form II on a fitting finale to a term of truly outstanding assemblies from every year group.
