Form I news 23rd November

Are those sleigh bells we can hear?

We can’t tell you I’m afraid as for the foreseeable future many of our English / RE lessons will be taking place under a cloud of secrecy. We can however let you know that we have been working very hard and have been applying all our knowledge of grammar, punctuation and spelling.

In both our Drama and Music lessons we have begun to talk about our Christmas show. We have all been given a part and are busy learning our words and songs. We are very excited about performing to you all nearer the end of term.

During Maths we have been reinforcing our knowledge of both 2D and 3D shape. We have been naming the different shapes and are beginning to describe each shape by its properties. Last Friday we had a visit from Jasmine the Magic Maths lady. She was most impressed with our knowledge of shapes and even showed us how to do some maths tricks! We have also been working hard on our subtraction skills and are really good at spotting when we can use our knowledge of number bonds to 10 to help us calculate the answer

In French we have been learning to say the French alphabet. Madame Knight taught us how to say the sounds and then we learnt both a song and a rap!

During art we having been busy painting in the style of the Russian artist Wassily Kandinsky. We have been colour mixing to make concentric circles and also adapted his style to work together to make some big Christmas trees. They are up in the classroom for you to see at the Christmas Bazaar.

Have a super weekend everyone!
