On a sunny and crisp Wednesday afternoon the Form II girls attended forest school.
We wrapped up warm and hopped on the bus for a short journey to Hudnall Park. Miss Sewell introduced the girls to the woods and reminded them of the rules to keep safe. The girls learnt about birds in winter needing extra food because the ground is hard and therefore difficult for them to find worms. They were then set the task of making a bird feeder using sticks collected in the woods, some string, a pipe cleaner and Cheerios! The girls worked very hard to follow Miss Sewell’s instructions and to collect the correct size sticks, tie them together with string and then thread on the cheerios. The end result was spectacular – the birds will be very happy!
