22nd September 21
We welcomed the girls back to school on Monday morning and started the day with a lovely Busy Fingers session. The girls are working hard to complete the activities enabling them to increase the strength in their hands and fingers to improve their fine motor skills. Following this we had an assembly with Mrs Sayers and the girls from Form 1. We were extremely excited to find that we were joint winners of the ‘Smartest Form’ Cup! What a fantastic start to the year!
During the morning we changed for our PE lesson. Mrs Weir and Mrs Collister helped us stage by stage to change out of our uniform and into our PE kit. If parents can encourage independent dressing and undressing at home it would greatly improve the changing process at school and we would be most grateful!
Mrs Halliday took us for our first PE lesson in the hall and we were brilliant! We then showed how grown up we were by changing into our red aprons for lunch! We are working hard to try and put the apron on ourselves and thread the belt through the apron ready for tying.
On Tuesday morning we continued with our Literacy lesson from Monday. The girls were able to recall the story in good detail and were then able to order the story independently using pictures. They were also able to retell the story using the picture cues and state which pictures were from the beginning of the story, the middle and the end.
We changed again for PE (the girls were brilliant at remembering how we did it yesterday!) and went to our PE lesson in the hall with Mrs Halliday. We also used the parachute during our Maths lesson to practise counting up to and back from 10 and our number recognition. What a busy morning!
