Reception Weekly News 9th July

8th July 21

What a super start to the week  –  Sarah Outen came to visit again. We enjoyed lots of team games together with Form I.

In the afternoon, we enjoyed listening to a story about Cody the Cautious Caterpillar, who loved being a caterpillar and was a little worried about changing into a butterfly. We related it to moving up to Form I. Lots of us are feeling excited, some are feeling a little nervous and others are full of anticipation!

We loved painting our hands rainbow colours for a special piece of work and enjoyed spending time playing with our friends.

On Tuesday, we enjoyed acting out this year’s Olympics. We danced like Japanese Geishas, acted out all of the sports and even won a medal! Super acting and miming skills girls.

We loved thanking Madame Knight for all of our super French lessons this year.

Wednesday was party day for Georgia, Lily and Miss Smith. We enjoyed lots of games including Musical Statues, Number bond Musical Chairs, Time Bomb, Fisherman’s Game and parachute games including All Change and Mushroom. Mrs Lipman surprised us with a lovely rendition of Happy Birthday on her violin. We then thanked Mrs Lipman for her amazing Music lessons.

We loved helping Cody, the Cautious Caterpillar find missing parts of his story around the school. We added them all of Cody’s garden friends up and realised they came to 55, which was the number we had to reach to get a treat. The treat was to ice our own biscuit and eat it for snack time!

We really enjoyed playing lots of different games with Mrs Halliday, including football, netball, tennis and using the Maypole for the first time!

On Thursday we enjoyed a morning of parachute games on the field, and loved running through the sprinkler!  We were so lucky that the sun decided to shine for sprinkler time!  We then had our Teddy Bear’s picnic on the field with our friends.

After lunch we had PE outside and then went to assembly where we said goodbye to Mr Smith and Alice, our lunch time supervisor.  We also found out who got Head’s Commendations this half term.

On Friday we watched the Leaver’s Service on the Smart Board.  It was lovely to see the bigger girls singing and telling us about their time at St Hilda’s before they move onto secondary school.

Have a wonderful summer holiday everyone and we look forward to seeing you all in September.
