8th July 21
Monday was the start of Activity Week and also our final week together in Nursery. We were excited for all the lovely activities that were planned for the week ahead, but also sad for our final days in Nursery. We enjoyed lots of lovely Busy Finger activities, drawing on the floor and using stencils, playing Phonic Fishing, making repeating patterns with blocks and creating amazing pictures with tap-a-shape and adding captions using our Phonic knowledge.
We then went to the field to meet Sarah Outen once again. Some of us thought that we might be going to find Mr Turtle as we never found him last time, but instead we found some dinosaurs waiting for us and we went on a dinosaur adventure across the river, under the tunnel of doom, up the high mountain, matching coloured dinosaur eggs to the right nests along the way and ended up finding and counting 17 dinosaurs, matched them into size order and with their twin dinosaur. We finished our adventure taking the dinosaurs to St Hildsosauras where all the dinosaurs go to school. What great fun we had, thank you Sarah!
On Tuesday morning we learnt about the Tokyo Olympics when West End Dance came to spend the morning with us. We learnt what the Olympics is and all about the events that are in it. We then learnt a dance acting out so many different sports including swimming, surfboarding, tennis, badminton and lots more. Finally we sang the National Anthem and showed everyone our gold medals. What a great morning we had!
On Wednesday morning we had a lovely Busy Fingers session using patterns to make butterflies and caterpillars, stickers being stuck around shapes, a whole world being made for some zoo animals and a stethoscope being made!
After Busy Fingers we found out that we were in luck! We had been working so very hard for the last few weeks that we had managed to fill the marble jar and so we were in for a treat! We played party games and ate some delicious party food before heading outside and enjoying a super outdoor ChIL session! What a lovely morning!
Thursday was our last day in Nursery for this year! We were all very excited to come to school with a teddy and a packed lunch and our swimming clothes! We had brilliant fun in the sprinkler on the field followed by a delicious Teddy Bears Picnic with everyone together!
The girls and boys have been an absolute pleasure to teach this year and we wish those who are moving on to their Reception classes well and we look forward to welcoming back the younger children in September! Have a wonderful summer!
