We have had another busy week in Form I. We have been working hard to manipulate numbers looking at how to break numbers down, how to make numbers using other numbers, number patterns, addition and subtraction. It has been a really number filled week.
We have been thinking more about instruction following in our English lessons and also by making and following algorithms during Computing. We are getting very good at sending the Beebots on quite complicated journeys!
We are also in full swing with our rehearsals for our Junior production at the end of this Half Term ‘Croak’. Form I are playing the part of the frogs so our classroom is full of the sounds of jumping, croaking and sometimes singing frogs!
On Thursday we had another Victorian day. This time we travelled back in time again to the year 1871 and we pretended that we were in a Victorian school. We learnt that school days were rather different in the Victorian Days. We had lessons in the 3 ‘R’s’, Reading, Writing and Arithmetic. Our teachers were very strict and even checked that our finger nails were clean. We talked about Queen Victoria and the Royal Family, we had to be silent unless we were spoken to. At break time we did something called Drill where we had to following strict instructions about moving our bodies.. Luckily, we were all well behaved but Mrs M the teacher apprentice was rather cheeky to Mrs J so she had 5 whacks with the cane on her hand. We enjoyed our day but were pleased to come back to the year 2021 at the end of the day!
