26th March 21
We enjoyed a fun filled day on Monday, starting with Busy Fingers. We enjoyed painting with friends, drawing pictures and putting together an Animals of the World puzzle.
In Literacy, we loved learning about Easter. We then decided what we wanted to write in our Easter cards and wrote our cards so well using our phonic knowledge.
In Mathematics, we worked hard counting Easter eggs and writing our numerals using the correct formation. We started working on our Easter cards, by snipping the grass for the spring scene.
We enjoyed two lovely Show and Tell presentations. Charlotte told us about her holiday to Mallorca and Isabelle explained about her super trip to Ibiza. Both girls recalled so many facts and talked so clearly about all of their photographs.
On Tuesday, we had a busy Construction Busy Fingers and worked in pairs to build super models.
In Yoga, we enjoyed stretching and moving along with Mr Hoppit the Hare.
In Literacy, we were busy threading Easter eggs and using our finger and thumb prints to make Easter chicks.
We loved playing Easter French games with Madame Knight. We hope Madame Knight has a very Joyeuses Pâques.
In the afternoon, we enjoyed listening to a Spring information book. We noticed that birds often build nests and lay eggs in the spring time. We made chocolate nests using butter, golden syrup, shredded wheat and chocolate. We loved crumbling, melting, stirring and cutting ingredients to make delicious chocolate Easter nests. We couldn’t wait to eat them at home.
On Wednesday, we enjoyed turning our fingerprints into chicks for our Easter cards.
In Computing, we used Purple Mash to design our own Easter eggs. In the afternoon, we really loved working with Mrs Halliday on our physical skills outdoors. We were so tired afterwards that we enjoyed a slow Princess meditation afterwards. Some of us were so relaxed at the end of it, we didn’t want to get up!
Mrs Bishop was so surprised to receive some delicious chocolates and a beautiful orchid. Thank you so much for the lovely Easter presents.
On Thursday we enjoyed an assembly on Zoom where each Form shared their ‘Lockdown Leaves’. Last week we wrote some things we enjoyed about lockdown on some cut out leaves and three of us shared our thoughts in the assembly. The leaves from the whole school will be made into a beautiful tree by the hall. We then rehearsed a special Easter hymn ready for our service on Friday.
Afterwards we listened to a lovely Easter Story about the traditions that a Christian family carry out on Easter Sunday. We then wrote some super Easter captions to go with some pictures, had a go at matching rhyming eggs and baskets and used wooden pencils to practise writing digraphs in coloured sand.
In the afternoon we got very creative and decorated some ceramic easter eggs. We also finished making our split pin Easter eggs with chicks inside and did some weaving.
On Friday we had a wonderful Easter Service outside with the whole school. We then took part in a fabulous Easter egg hunt courtesy of FOSH and we were very excited to win our own delicious chocolate egg at the end!
Have a wonderful Easter holiday everybody! We look forward to welcoming you back on Tuesday 20th April.
