Reception Weekly News 12th December

11th December 20

Monday was Filming Day. We enjoyed putting on our costumes and working with Form I and Form II to film the First Christmas story.

Back in the classroom, we loved decorating our Christmas bags with stickers. We loved the Christmas story so much that we made our own Nativity scenes. We have loved sharing Christmas stories from the book shelf with our friends and have even started to act them out together and reading stories with Baby Jesus on our laps!

Maddison, our Form VI helper had recorded an amazing Christmas story ‘Mog’s Christmas Calamity’ which we loved watching.

We had fun doing some Christmas cooking making chocolate crispy cakes. We added melted white chocolate as custard with Mrs Matthews in the afternoon.

On Tuesday, we threaded beads to make pretty candy canes. We also took time to do some mindfulness colouring.

Wednesday was party day. We loved playing party games together. Our teachers were so proud of the way we all behaved if we were out of a game. Well done girls on showing such maturity girls. We were just settling down to a nice story on the carpet when we heard someone shouting ‘Ho, ho, ho’. Father Christmas came past our window with presents for all of us. Thank you so much Santa!

Next we enjoyed pulling Christmas crackers with our friends before sharing a delicious Christmas dinner cooked by Sue and Sharon!

In the afternoon, we enjoyed some PE party game with Mrs Rushbrook and we sang Mrs Rushbrook our song to say farewell ‘The Twelve Days of Mrs Rushbrook’.

On Thursday, we spent the morning making a beautiful calendar.  You will have seen our efforts by now and we hope you love them!  We enjoyed using different media to create a tree through the seasons.  We used buttons, paint, tissue paper and confetti.  Our fingers were very busy!

In the afternoon we had some ChIL time and enjoyed making some fox decorations out of dried orange slices.

On Friday, we enjoyed watching The Snowman with our friends, whilst having some delicious hot chocolate.  We also crammed in a range of snowman related craft activities before our early finish for the Christmas holidays!

Merry Christmas everyone, we hope you have a wonderful holiday, see you next year!
