Nursery Weekly News 30th November

4th December 20

Christmas has well and truly erupted in Nursery! We have been so busy this morning making cards and candy canes, wreaths and Christmas trees! The classroom looks amazing and the children are working really hard.

We practised some writing today, hearing initial sounds and writing them with the correct formation into the Christmas cards.   We have also been looking forward to opening our class countdown to Christmas ‘Advent Calendar’ each morning with Mrs Houten.  We are very lucky to receive two chocolate gold coins when it is our turn!

On Tuesday morning after a Christmas themed Busy Fingers we had an adventure in our amazing Christmas outfits to the hall where we found a superb gift shop of sweets and treats! We took our pennies with us and bought some goodies to take home.  How lucky we are!

On Wednesday morning we were so busy again! We learnt our number of the week, number 7.  The girls and boys were helped by El Nombre to learn the correct formation on the number and then practised writing the number on their friend’s back with their index finger.

We had a fabulous Outdoor ChIL today too where almost everyone was on a bike or scooter at once!! Some girls enjoyed singing songs with Mrs Houten and they were able to use the instruments to accompany themselves and try to keep a steady beat!

On Thursday morning we finished off some more Christmas decorations and practised writing Christmas words and some numbers.  The classroom is well and truly decorated now and even Mrs Houten was decorated too!!

We had a final singing practise with Mrs Lipman for our Nativity next week and she was very impressed at how hard we had been working in the classroom!

After music and snack we had a Sticky Kids session with Mrs Houten and Mrs Weir.  The girls and boys listened really carefully to the instructions and had a good sing and dance!

On Friday morning we started with our usual Busy Fingers session and registration.  We then joined Reception and Form I in the hall for a practise of the Nativity that we are filming next week.  The girls and boys were brilliant at remembering the words and actions for the songs we have been learning and we are sure you will thoroughly enjoy the film next week!

We also popped out for our Christmas Welly Walk and had great fun with some Christmas themed activities on the tennis courts and the field!

What a busy busy week we have had! We wish you all a super weekend and we look forward to our final week of the term next week!
