We’ve had another busy week here in Form I.
In Maths we have been re-capping on our knowledge of shapes both 2D and 3D whilst also building on our independence to use our sum cards. We have to make sure we set out our sums correctly using correct number formation and it is really important that we don’t forget to write the equals sign before we put the answer!
In English we are all doing well and are learning the importance of remembering how to spell the tricky words that we practice each day. In fact nearly all of us got all of our tricky words correct in our tricky word test on Thursday. We have also started a top secret piece of work that will take us a few weeks to complete. It revolves around our English, RE and Art lessons. All will be revealed at Christmas!
On Wednesday we were really pleased to see (although from afar) the rest of the school. We all went out onto the tennis court and joined in our Remembrance service. We listened to the Form VI girls reading their poems, a piece of music played on a bugle called The Last Post was played and then we stood in silence while we remembered the soldiers and people who lost their lives helping to make our world a more happy place. Lots of us wore Poppies in fact even Maisie wore a poppy!
We have also had fun discovering even more equipment in the classroom. This week we have been exploring the Lego box, making sentences with the magnetic letters and designing patterns with the pegboards.
Have a good weekend everyone. Don’t forget to do your reading and practice your spellings please!
