26th April 19
Welcome back everyone!
We couldn’t wait to get started on our Easter Extravaganza! We enjoyed listening to the stories ‘Eggday’ and ‘Quacky, Quack, Quack’. We baked Easter nests with our Nursery friends, melting chocolate, butter and golden syrup and crushing in shredded wheat. We thought they looked just like little nests once we had added in the chocolate eggs. Delicious!
We then used our cutting skills to make our own Easter Bunny.
In the afternoon, we enjoyed painting cylinders and turning them into Easter Bunnies.
On Thursday morning, we joined with the Nursery again and made some little yellow chicks by dipping forks into paint and printing on pieces of card. We then added eyes and a 3d beak. They look so cute! We also did some finger painting to make some beautiful coloured eggs in baskets. We challenged ourselves not to put 2 of the same coloured eggs next to each other!
In the afternoon we used marble rolling and pom pom printing to create beautiful large eggs. Very messy but excellent fun!
On Friday we had an Easter bonnet parade. We all worked so hard to create the most beautiful bonnets! They are now on display in our classroom, looking fabulous.
We then had an Easter Egg hunt in the outdoor classroom and tennis court. We all found lots of colourful eggs and exchanged them for a delicious chocolate egg which we took home in our Easter basket.
We then had a lovely restful time watching a Spring themed Peter Rabbit with our Nursery friends.
In the afternoon we learned about the Easter Story and what happened on each day over Easter.
After a mindfulness session and a Spring story, we were ready for the weekend!
See you on Monday for our first full week back at school. Have a wonderful weekend!
