7th December 18
Today we began another busy week of Christmas activities.
In Busy Fingers we played a memory board game with Mrs Holdstock. We took turns beautifully, (PSE).
We then went to the hall to watch the Junior Show. We sat so nicely and really enjoyed the show with all the singing and dancing.
We then walked to the post box to post our letters to Father Christmas, (PD). We hope that he gets them soon.
After a well deserved snack we sang the Christmas songs that we are going to sing to our Mummies and Daddies at the end of term, (EAD and PSE). We are getting very good at them.
On Tuesday morning we decorated boxes with stickers which we are going to put all our Christmas craft in to take home for our Mummies and Daddies, (PD and PSE).
In our Jolly Phonics session today we learnt our new sound ‘i’. We then played a listening game, as we are working really hard on our listening, speaking and understanding skills, (CL).
Today was our Library session. We had a cuddle with our toys while Mrs Weir read us ‘The Gruffalo’s Child’. We then presented four more Golden Wellie certificates. We were so proud of our friends.
Today Tommy brought a remote control dinosaur into Nursery. We had great fun trying to make a tunnel with our legs for it to go through. We then remembered the ‘Dinosaur Stomp’ which we watched on the smart board some time ago. We all did the ‘Dinosaur Stomp’ together and then realised that our hearts were beating very fast after all that activity, (PD).
In our adult-led activity we decorated a special gift for our Mummies and Daddies. We used a pincer grip to carefully place little silver balls onto icing, (PD).
Tommy opened number five on the advent calendar today and ate a yummy chocolate. We take it in turns each day, (PSE and Maths).
At snack time today Mrs Weir made us some popcorn and we remembered how to make the ‘p’ sound and action that we learnt last week, (Literacy). It was yummy!
In the afternoon session Mrs Radgman, Freya and Willow joined Reception to make some lovely Christmas tree decorations, (EAD). Freya and Willow then turned into Santa’s helpers in the Christmas workshop.
In French today we acted out ‘Jesus’ First Christmas’ by Nicholas Allan. We learnt lots of French words and counted all the animals and people in the stable.
In the afternoon with Mrs Radgman we played a Christmas Kim’s game. We looked at a tray of eight Christmas objects. We said the phonic sound for the start of each item, counted them and then tried so hard to remember them all. Mrs Radgman took one away and we had to tell her which one it was. We were so good at it that sometimes she took two away. We were very clever and counted to see how many were left to tell us how many had gone. Well done, you played really well together, (Maths, PSE, CL and Literacy.
On Friday morning in our ‘Outdoor Learning’ we worked on our gross motor skills again. We played a game where we had to move around the playground whilst Mrs Radgman jingled Christmas bells, but when the music stopped she called out a Christmas item, like Santa, reindeer, stocking and more and we had to run to a corresponding picture. We then had to do a number of hops, star jumps, twists and many more. Our hearts were beating so fast when we finished, (PD and CL). We were also so wet as it was absolutely pouring!
To warm up we all went in for snack and the lovely Mrs Kean from the kitchen made us hot chocolate, thank you and yum, yum!
We finished our week with a lovely indoor ChIL.
We look forward to seeing you for the last week of the autumn term and lots of fabulous Christmas surprises!
