Reception Weekly News Sept 7th

Welcome to our first Reception Weekly News!

We have enjoyed our first two mornings in Reception.

In Busy Fingers, we enjoyed threading, using play dough, making collages and using little models of ourselves in our small world play.  We also had great fun copying some dance moves with our Go Noodle session on Friday morning!

In Literacy, we took time to have a go at writing our own name. We decorated them with stars and think they look amazing on display in our lovely new classroom.

We also made our initials using play dough and some used fishing rods to capture magnetic letters and tried to recall which sound they make.

We were delighted to receive postcards from our new Reception friends and loved hearing each other’s holiday news.  On Friday we had a go at drawing and writing our own postcards.

In Maths, we practised counting to 10 and beyond and had a go at ordering numbers on a washing line.  We then had to be detectives and work out which number had been stolen off of the washing line!  We did some super counting altogether on the carpet too!

We hope you all have a lovely, relaxing weekend and look forward to seeing you next week.
