The Form VI classroom is on the first floor of the new building, opposite the main stairs. Girls may enter the classroom from 8.20am onwards and registration is at 8.40am. The school day ends at 3.45pm. Form VI takes the third lunch sitting (12.45 – 1.15pm). Certain privileges, responsibilities and duties are introduced in the girls’ last year at St. Hilda’s. A mentor system operates throughout the year. Regular outings are included in the curriculum, often to London, and visiting speakers and workshop leaders are invited to the school to enhance the learning in specific subject areas.
Netball Club is held after School for the first two terms, with tennis coaching in the Summer Term. Drama Club is compulsory for the first two terms and is held after school on a Wednesday. In the Spring Term Form VI present a dramatic production to parents and friends.
The Form VI Trip to France takes place either towards the end of the Easter holiday period or during the early part of the Summer Term.
In the last half of the Summer Term the girls lead the School in Assemblies on topics of their own choosing to which their parents are invited. The academic year ends with an Eco-Fashion Show, produced, scripted and performed by the pupils, together with the Leavers’ Service, where the class speak both of their memories of St Hilda’s and of their dreams and aspirations for the future.
