Girls may enter the classroom from 8.20am onwards and registration is at 8.45am. Each girl has a peg in the corridor outside and a locker inside the classroom. As in Form IV, the school day ends at 3.45pm. Form V takes the third lunch sitting (1.00 – 1.30pm).
In the Summer Term, Form V goes on a three-day Environmental Studies Field Trip to the Cranedale Centre in North Yorkshire. Verbal reasoning is introduced to the curriculum during the Summer Term. Shakespeare is also introduced to the curriculum.
A term of weekly German sessions is offered for girls who show a particular aptitude for languages. This continues through Form VI, with a regular review of attendees.
This being the preparation year for external examinations, the School hosts an evening in the Christmas Term to which parents are invited for a presentation on Secondary School Transfer. A mentor system is introduced after the Easter holiday.
Netball Club is continued this year and in the Summer Term tennis coaching is offered as a chargeable extra.
