Nursery Weekly News 7th September 2018

We have had a fantastic first couple of days in Nursery and all the children seem to be settling well.

On Thursday we spent time playing and getting to know our new friends, (PSE). We painted and drew pictures, we built models with Duplo, shared stories with our teachers, played with small world toys and lots more.

In our first adult-led activity we used tools to paint front covers for our ‘All About Me’ books, (EAD and PD). We are going to spend time this half-term finding out all about each other.

At story time Tilly chose to share her favourite book with us. Tilly told us that she loves ‘Each Peach Pear Plum’ by Janet and Allan Ahlberg, as ‘each page is so funny’, (Literacy, CL and PSE). We are all going to have a turn sharing our favourite books with our friends and we are really looking forward to it.

We had such a busy Friday, trying lots of new activities and exploring our new environment.

In Busy Fingers we met our Nursery Adult Helper, Mrs Holdstock. Mrs Holdstock helped us to make structures and people with Sticklebricks, (EAD). We also used our busy fingers to connect shapes together and used scissors to cut different materials and make collages, (PD and EAD).

We also took turns nicely playing a game with Mrs Radgman, (PSE).

In our adult-led outdoor activity we played a game where we looked at a photograph of the outside area and then tried to find it. Once there we talked about using the equipment safely and learnt how to tidy it away nicely, (PD and CL).

We met the school pets, Biscuit and Cuddles the guinea pigs, and Bill and Ben the two rabbits.

To end the day we went to the hall for our first Music lesson with Mrs Lipman. We sang a song to help Mrs Lipman learn all our names. We then sang lots of well known nursery rhymes and joined in with the actions.

We have had such a lovely first two days together and we look forward to lots more Nursery fun. Enjoy your weekend.
